Radicle Herb Shop

'Radicle' is the botanical term for the first root that emerges from a seed. Just as the radicle is the anchor from which a plant grows, Radicle Herb Shop is an anchor for community, herbal knowledge and wellness for Brooklyn and beyond. For us, Radicle is not revolutionary; it’s going back to our collective roots to bring forth deep, grounded healing. Radicle Herb Shop is a retail business and community gathering space in the Boerum Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. Our mission is to provide organically grown botanical medicines, ethically wild-crafted or sustainably harvested herbs and whole plant products that are of the highest quality, derived from plant material that originates in harmony with the environment. We offer these products by brands that meet high quality standards and sustainable practices. Chris Rodgers, founder of Radicle Herb Shop, is a student of ancient healing traditions from around the world. His influence on health and nutrition is deeply influenced by the holistic lifestyle approaches of Western Herbalism, Ayurvedic, Asian healing traditions and nutritional anthropology. The focus of his work is on integrating these teachings to form a comprehensive model for practicing herbal and nutritional healing. He bridges these traditions into a Vitalist philosophy that encompasses indigenous wisdom and clinical herbalism. Chris is a graduate from Arbor Vitae's clinical herbalism program in New York city. Dana Perry spent most of her childhood building homes for resident fairies (and other small woodland creatures) in rural north Idaho. More formal education in Sociology permeates her current work with plants, highlighting the importance of micro and macro social institutions and their impact on personal experience. She believes that herbs allow humans to be unique and whole beings, not a series of broken parts to be remedied bit by bit - and without regard to mind, spirit, personal and sociocultural identity. She holds an M.A. in Sociology from The New School and recently graduated from Arbor Vitae's clinical herbalism program in NYC. www.danamperry.com Maeve Carver is an herbalist, youth facilitator, community organizer, and musician.
